Cobuspi declines 7% amid semiconductor dip
The main KOSPI index in South Korea dropped by more than 7.4% to reach 5,914 points, marking its lowest level since late July, amid a wave of selling in semiconductor stocks, especially Samsung and SK Hynix. Meanwhile, the Nikkei 225 in Japan decreased by 2.5%. This decline followed mixed performances in U.S. stocks and a volatile close for global equities, with the semiconductor sector being particularly hard hit due to the decline in stock prices of manufacturing and chip companies in Korea and Japan.
