China imposes sanctions on Paraguay and Belize officials
The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced retaliatory measures against officials from Paraguay and Belize in response to their actions, which China considers interference in its internal affairs and support for separatist forces seeking Taiwan's independence. The measures include targeting Paraguay's Minister of Information Technology and Belize's Foreign Minister due to their visits and receptions of pro-Taiwan separatist groups on their territories, as well as disseminating false information about alleged Chinese cyberattacks. China affirmed that it will take all necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity, warning countries that still maintain diplomatic relations with Taiwan against playing into such influences. It emphasized that supporting separatist forces will only lead to greater international isolation.
