Romania's President Names New PM Candidate
The appointment of Romanian President Nicolae Ciucă, a former diplomat and journalist, as the new Prime Minister candidate follows three unsuccessful attempts to form a government. This move aims to end the country's political and economic crisis. After previous proposals were rejected, Ciucă announced that, in consultation with political parties, he will form a team to secure a parliamentary majority and establish a stable government. The goal of these efforts is to maintain a path of close ties with the West and to fulfill Romania's financial and policy commitments.
