The Russian authorities announced the arrest of two Russian citizens in the Perm and Belgorod regions, who were communicating with Ukrainian intelligence via the Telegram app. They were collecting information about sensitive defense and energy facilities in Russia. The suspects, born in 2002 and 2006, were planning to carry out sabotage and terrorist attacks for money, as part of a plan to assist Ukraine in targeting Russian facilities, including an attempt to blow up an industrial facility and an armored vehicle with a bomb. They have been detained for investigation on charges including preparing for a terrorist act, sabotage, and possession of explosives, and charges of treason are currently being considered.
