Berri stops Hezbollah's attacks on PM
The article focused on the efforts of Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Sallam and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri to reach a ceasefire in southern Lebanon. Sallam conducted field visits to Nbaita and held meetings with local officials, aiming to revive the presence of the state and establish stability after a period of tensions and frustration. This came in the context of some Hezbollah figures not welcoming Sallam and a decline in the party’s statements against his visits. These moves demonstrated a desire to strengthen the role of governmental institutions and to bridge the gap between the central authority and the residents of the south. Sallam emphasized the necessity of stopping Israeli attacks, implementing developmental projects, and achieving reconstruction with international support—all aimed at bolstering the resilience of the local population and ensuring lasting stability.
