Erdoğan highlights Turkey’s defense export rise
The Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, called for the preservation of national principles and values. He emphasized that Turkey has made significant advances in the defense industry, now ranking 11th worldwide in exports, which exceeded $6.3 billion during the first eight months of the year, representing a 16.2% growth compared to last year. He pointed out that over 4,500 Turkish companies operate in the sector, employing more than 100,000 people, after previously relying on foreign imports by 80%. He also underscored the importance of continuous development and new technologies, urging young people to participate in building these achievements and to resist attempts at obstruction. Erdoğan clarified that Turkey exported defense products worth $511.4 million in August, with a focus on strengthening the sector and achieving record-breaking targets in the future.
