Washington seizes fuel shipment to Cuba
The U.S. Coast Guard intercepted a ship carrying fuel that was en route to Cuba in violation of the oil blockade imposed by Washington on the island since January 2025. The vessel, MV Grace, was headed to Cuba loaded with large quantities of fuel and was found to have used concealment methods to hide its origin and destination in order to bypass U.S. laws. This interception is part of an increasing effort by the United States to prevent fuel supplies to Cuba, which is suffering from a severe energy crisis and ongoing power outages due to its deteriorating relations with Washington and the blockade. The U.S. Coast Guard also confirmed the interception of another ship during the summer that was transporting illegal fuel to Cuba, reflecting escalating American pressure on the island’s supply routes.
