Iraq skies cleared for civilian flights
Iraq announced the opening of areas previously designated for military operations to civilian air traffic after a decade of embargo, which began in late 2016. These areas, stretching from Nineveh to the southern part of the Anbar Desert, previously relied on coalition airstrikes combating ISIS and the Iraqi Air Force. The Ministry of Transport confirmed that the Airspace Management Team has verified that these regions are no longer used for military operations, allowing them to be reopened to civilian flights.
