Coalition Targets Sanaa and Accuses Houthis
The article concerns the escalation of attacks by the Yemeni Houthi movement, backed by Iran, against Saudi Arabia over the past week. These attacks targeted airports and vital facilities, resulting in casualties, hundreds of injuries, and the closure of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. Saudi Arabia responded with airstrikes targeting Houthi sites in Yemen, including oil facilities, aiming to neutralize their capability to threaten the kingdom and maritime routes. The Saudi-led coalition confirmed that the Houthis are using civilian objects, such as fuel warehouses and oil installations, to support their military operations, and called for an end to terrorist activities against civilians. In the context of this escalation, the Saudi army announced the interception and destruction of missiles over Riyadh and Khamis Mushait. Despite ongoing Houthi attacks, Saudi Arabia has pledged to confront their consequences, with some airports remaining closed until further notice.
