Trump signs bill targeting Russia and Putin
U.S. President Donald Trump signed a bill imposing sanctions on Russia, aimed at pressuring President Vladimir Putin to end the war with Ukraine. The law calls for expanding economic and tariff sanctions, targeting Russian government officials, oligarchs, and state-owned companies. It also extends sanctions on Iran. Additionally, the law grants the Trump administration the authority to impose tariffs of up to 100% on Russian oil and gas sold to China and India, which could cause a significant economic shock. The legislation aims to force Russia to back down in the conflict, but it raises concerns about widespread economic impacts on the global market.
