Russia opposes US Typhoon systems in Japan
Russia confirmed that it had demanded Japan to dismantle the American "Typhoon" systems installed on Kyushu Island, which are used to launch short- and medium-range missiles. This step is considered an official protest against their deployment within Japanese territory. Moscow views the establishment of these platforms as a threat to Russian security and emphasized the need for Japan to recognize the results of World War II, especially regarding the Southern Kuril Islands, while also calling on Japan to relinquish its arms buildup. These statements come amid escalating tensions between the two countries over the deployment of American military systems on Japanese soil.
