Australian police probe Flydubai assistant pilot
A joint counter-terrorism unit in Australia investigated the connections of a co-pilot working for Fly Dubai, who is suspected of attempting to carry out a terrorist attack onboard a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv. The pilot attacked the crew using an axe and tried to take control of the aircraft's controls. The UAE Attorney General confirmed that the suspect had begun executing his plan during the flight, having filmed a radical speech in Australia, and is believed to have exhibited suicidal tendencies. The plane made an emergency landing at Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia. Passengers on the flight reported feeling that a disaster was imminent. The investigation is ongoing to uncover the motives behind the incident and whether they align with recent security threats related to flights to Israel.
