Yemeni army takes control of Bab al-Mandab and nearby routes
The Yemeni Armed Forces announced the launch of a large-scale operation called "Yemen Dawn" aimed at targeting and strengthening control over strategic areas held by the Houthis, including the Bab al-Mandab Strait and Zubab Airport. The "Thriving Shield" forces and the "Alchemy Brigades," with the support of the popular resistance, succeeded in liberating the Zubab District and cutting off the Houthis' supply lines. Military operations are ongoing to achieve their goals of regaining control over the entire Yemeni territory. This comes as part of the government's efforts to restore national sovereignty following deteriorating security conditions and the Houthis' escalation of hostile actions. The operation is considered a strategic military move to restore national institutions and reassert the government's authority over the region.
