Libyan Parliament Approves Central Bank Governor Resignation

The Libyan Parliament has preliminarily approved the resignation of Naji Muhammad Issa as Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, and decided to assign Board Member Fawzi Mosbah Abu Khzam to temporarily manage the bank's affairs. This comes after Issa sent apology letters in August expressing his intention to step down, but the Parliament rejected his request and asked him to remain until a final decision on his resignation is made. This measure was taken to ensure the continued operation of the bank until the resignation is presented to the council, amid the volatile political circumstances of 2026.
