Gouna Festival Supports Displaced Filmmakers

The "Safe Haven" initiative was launched as part of the "CineGouna" program at the El Gouna Film Festival to assist displaced filmmakers from the Middle East and North Africa in developing their projects, especially given the challenges in accessing funding and professional networks. Four filmmakers were selected to participate, including Syrian Ezel Manay and Sudanese Ahmed Nageedine, in a program that features remote training sessions and an intensive phase in El Gouna, where they will receive one-on-one guidance and opportunities to meet with producers and distributors. The program aims to support filmmakers by enhancing their professional skills and providing collaboration opportunities, all within the framework of strengthening the film industry that reflects their human experiences amidst displacement and conflict.
