Protesters enter Marseille city hall
Protesters briefly stormed the Marseille City Hall, the second-largest city in France, as part of demonstrations against the high cost of living in the country. The masked protesters forced open the door and entered the building, where one of them drew an anarchist symbol on the wall before police intervened. These protests come amid widespread demonstrations involving students, farmers, environmental activists, and a version of the "Yellow Vests" movement calling for "anger" over the rising cost of living, amid fears of escalating reactions ahead of the upcoming presidential elections. Clashes occurred with security forces who used tear gas, and protesters attacked the "C News" channel, leading to several arrests. The protests are increasing in intensity, marked by violence and tension in Paris and other French cities.
