A new version of Tesla's electric sports car, the Roadster, was unveiled during a showcase event in Texas, where the vehicle demonstrated unconventional technical performance. The car featured aerial maneuvers and jumps using rocket-like propulsion techniques, in collaboration with SpaceX. It relies on innovative propulsion systems that enable aerial stunts and advanced technical displays, with a top speed exceeding 230 miles per hour (370 kilometers per hour) and the ability to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in less than a second. It can also travel more than 300 miles (480 kilometers) on a single charge. Tesla plans to begin production of the new model in 2028, though questions remain about the extent to which propulsion and suction technologies will be used on public roads, as well as safety requirements and licensing. Notably, Elon Musk, the owner, indicated that the vehicle is not necessarily aimed at enhancing safety standards. The Roadster represents a significant step for Tesla to showcase its engineering capabilities, especially as the company's current focus is on artificial intelligence and autonomous driving.
