China warns against protectionism overcapacity

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce confirmed that China opposes the use of the pretext of "excessive productive capacity" to justify protective trade measures, and it will respond appropriately if other countries take actions that harm its interests. China explained that issues related to productive capacity should be viewed in a comprehensive and fair manner, away from politicization or the politicization of economic matters, as such practices could disrupt the global economic system and undermine its stability. It also indicated that it will take necessary measures to safeguard its interests if this pretext is used harmfully, and continues to work on building a modern industrial system and promoting international cooperation within a fair economic framework.
