West Bank attack highlights rising violence
There is an escalation in attacks on Palestinians and olive farms in the West Bank, especially with the start of the harvest season and the upcoming Israeli elections scheduled for October 27. An American journalist working for The Washington Post was beaten by settlers, resulting in a fractured vertebra and broken ribs, during an attack targeting volunteer olive harvesters. Reports indicate that settlers attacked several villages, established new settlement outposts, and organized patrols. Meanwhile, Israeli authorities continue their investigations and have arrested some of those involved. However, experts and government insiders point to a decline in accountability for the attackers, with accusations that the government is supporting settlers, contributing to the escalation of violence.
