Ten Hag Discusses Ronaldo Exit
The article focused on the criticisms issued by Erik ten Hag, the former and current manager of Manchester United, towards Cristiano Ronaldo due to his behavior during his time at the club before his departure to Al Nassr Saudi Arabia. Ten Hag explained that Ronaldo ignored instructions, failed to perform consistently and diligently during training sessions, and was not at the required physical readiness, which led to the coach's disappointment. He considered that the player personally let the team down. The article also noted that conflicts had begun before Ronaldo left the club in December 2022, and that Ten Hag had repeatedly tried to improve Ronaldo’s performance and commitment. Since then, Ronaldo has faced disciplinary actions from the Portuguese Football Federation, including a 30-day suspension and a financial penalty, despite his assertions that he remains willing to represent his country. The article emphasized that Ten Hag believes the former Real Madrid and Juventus star needs to work at a more serious level for the sake of the team, and that his lack of readiness and his requests for teammates to reduce their energy consumption have contributed to a deterioration of his relationship with the club.
