Trump’s envoy to visit Russia after Zelensky talks
The Russian news agency TASS reported that U.S. envoy Steve Weitkoff will visit Russia on Wednesday, following a meeting in Oslo with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Finnish President Alexander Stubb. The purpose of the visit is to attempt to mend the deteriorating relations between the United States and Ukraine, especially in light of growing rapprochement between Trump and Moscow, as well as Kyiv’s complaints about Washington withholding defensive weapons. Zelensky met with Weitkoff in Oslo, where the two exchanged hugs before their talks, which were attended remotely by Jared Kushner. A press conference is scheduled to be held after 17:00 GMT.
