Al-Mansouri to head coalition in Morocco
The Moroccan Justice and Development Party, which topped the recent parliamentary elections, announced the formation of a coalition government led by Fatima Zahra Mansouri. She will be the first woman to hold the position of Prime Minister in Morocco. The coalition includes the Socialist Progress and Leagues Party, the Union Socialist Popular Forces, and the Independence Party. Together, they hold 207 parliamentary seats, surpassing the required majority. King Mohammed VI appointed Fatima Zahra Mansouri to form the new government. The incoming government is set to face challenges related to employment, education, and healthcare, while also preparing to host the 2030 World Cup in partnership with Spain and Portugal.
