Lyon loses first match, drops top spot
Lyon's team lost 1-2 to Lens, missing the opportunity to top the French league for the first time this season. Meanwhile, Lens extended their dominance with their first win in four matches, moving up to seventh place ahead of their UEFA Champions League match against Sporting Portugal. Lyon scored a goal to reduce the deficit, but their player Odoulou was sent off after a reckless tackle, which affected the course of the game. Lens scored two goals before Lyon finally managed to close the gap. Lyon is now looking forward to winning their Europa League match against Crystal Palace to make up for their domestic defeat.
