Turkey urges swift action to safeguard ICC
The United States has imposed widespread sanctions on the International Criminal Court, preventing it from accessing American financial and technological services and hampering its ability to operate. UN Human Rights Commissioner Volker Türk called for urgent measures to protect the court from these "unacceptable" sanctions, which are viewed as retaliatory for its work in promoting accountability for human rights violations. These sanctions are part of Washington's efforts to dismantle the court, which the US accuses of political bias and unfairly targeting Americans and Israelis. The court has condemned these measures, viewing them as an attack on the rule of law and the international system.
