Trump pushes for early and mail-in voting
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he has issued a call for Americans to vote using all available methods, including early voting and mail-in voting, despite his previous opposition to these methods. This was conveyed in a video he posted on the "Truth Social" platform, where he encouraged Republicans to vote early, by mail, or in person on Election Day to boost voter mobilization efforts and achieve the highest possible turnout before the midterm elections. Notably, Trump had previously criticized mail-in voting, calling it a "disaster," yet he himself has used it and is advocating for increased use of it in upcoming elections. As the 2024 elections approach, his strategies focus on promoting early mail-in voting, despite criticisms and concerns about potential voter fraud or negative impacts on the electoral process.
