Meretz Warns of Europe Security Risks in Ukraine
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz emphasized that Europe's security is at stake in Ukraine, and supporting Ukraine in its confrontation with Russia is essential to maintaining regional stability. He warned that Moscow's continued actions could lead to Russia's war machine turning against NATO, underscoring the importance of unity among allies—especially in light of gains made by the Alternative for Germany party, which calls for halting military aid to Ukraine and lifting sanctions on Russia. Merz also urged the continuation of military support for Kyiv and warned of the risks of mass migration waves if the conflicts persist. He stressed that increasing defense spending is necessary to enhance Europe's security and prevent Russia and China from achieving political and military dominance.
