Al Hilal Plans Upended
Contact with the management of UAE club Shabab Al Ahli was lost less than 24 hours before its match against Al Hilal in Riyadh, disrupting reception and accommodation arrangements. The club had not responded to calls from the Asian Football Confederation, the Saudi federation or Al Hilal’s management by 1:39 p.m. on Monday, November 2, 2026. The match is scheduled for Tuesday as part of the fourth round of the West Region league phase in the AFC Champions League Elite. The team’s arrival time had not been confirmed, although it was expected to arrive before sunset on Monday. The status of the technical meeting, scheduled for 3 p.m., was also unclear. Several club officials, the match commissioner and the refereeing team had arrived in Riyadh on Sunday.
