Gulf 27 Saeed Al-Owairan Urges Saudi Football Revival
Former Saudi star Saeed Al-Owaiyan confirmed that the victory of the Saudi national team in the Gulf Cup's 27th edition, scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia, is a popular demand to restore the prestige of Saudi football. The Saudi team is participating in the tournament hosted on home ground and will open their matches against Kuwait, aiming to win a title that has been absent from their trophy cabinet since 2004. He considers this victory a crucial step to boost confidence and prepare for the 2027 Asian Cup. Al-Owaiyan views the tournament as more than a friendly competition; it carries strategic and psychological significance. It is an opportunity to reclaim football glory and strengthen Saudi Arabia's regional stature. He emphasized that winning the title is a primary goal for the coaching staff and fans alike, and it must translate into an achievement that elevates the team's standing and demonstrates their readiness for the future.
