The majority of the Moroccan House of Representatives, consisting of 204 deputies from the Authenticity and Modernity Party and its allies, approved the new government’s program led by Fatima Zahra Mansouri, while 127 deputies opposed it. This grants the government the legal confidence according to the constitution. This approval comes after a detailed discussion of the government program and Mansouri’s responses to deputies’ interventions, amid an atmosphere of tension and exchange of accusations. The new government pledged to implement comprehensive reforms to the pension system, including gradually raising the minimum pensions to 3,000 dirhams per month and protecting purchasing power by reducing inflation to less than 2%.
