Elham Shaheen on judging work without context
Ingrid Shahine defended the play "The Virtuous Prostitute," emphasizing that it addresses humanitarian and social issues such as racism and discrimination. She stated that judging the work should be based on understanding its context and content, not just its title. She expressed surprise at the criticism she received, noting that the play was performed in the 1960s and achieved widespread success without similar reviews. She suggested that the difference in historical context is the reason for the misunderstandings. She also condemned some people's attacks on her due to her statements about the work, affirming that criticizing a piece without watching it reflects ignorance.
