Alonso Provides Updates on Martínez Injury
Chabi Alonso, Chelsea's coach, confirmed that the team's goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez, is fully conscious after his serious injury during the Everton match, where he was taken to the hospital for precautionary examinations. Martinez sustained a head injury following a strong collision with an Everton defender, which caused the game to be paused for more than 10 minutes, and as a result, he will be sidelined for two weeks according to the English Football Association's head injury protocols. The recovery period will include strict measures to ensure the player's safety, encompassing a rest from physical and cognitive activity, with a gradual return to the pitch once his condition stabilizes.
