Erdogan: Ottoman Gazi is Turkey's first floating factory and will double gas output
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan launched the floating "Osman Gazi" platform for natural gas processing in the Black Sea. This is Turkey’s first floating plant launched in its waters as part of the "Century of Turkey" vision. The platform aims to process gas extracted from the Sakarya field using 21 onboard units, and transport it to the port via subsea pipelines, with the platform operating for 20 years. Erdoğan confirmed that Turkey will double its gas production in the region to reach 20 million cubic meters per day, expecting that by 2027, one-third of Turkish households will be using local gas, as part of efforts to enhance Turkey’s capacity to produce and utilize domestic energy.
