Amnesty International awards Palestinian minors' advocate
Amnesty International in Germany has awarded Palestinian lawyer Khaled Qzmar the Human Rights Award in recognition of his efforts in exposing systematic violations of Palestinian children's rights before Israeli courts and supporting victims for over 30 years. Qzmar has faced pressure and threats from Israeli authorities due to his work, while Israel accuses Palestinian organizations linked to it of being terrorist groups, citing cases of child recruitment and training in Gaza, as well as the detention of hundreds of Palestinian minors for security reasons and the establishment of military training camps for them. The award is valued at 20,000 euros and is given every two years; this is the thirteenth time it has been awarded.
