Carvajal begins new chapter at Getafe
Veteran defender Dani Carvajal, former Real Madrid player, has signed a contract with Getafe until June 30, 2027, following the end of his contract with Real Madrid last May. His joining aims to strengthen the team despite a significant salary reduction, as he agreed to this to avoid leaving and to continue playing in La Liga near Madrid. Carvajal possesses extensive experience, having won 27 titles with Real Madrid, including six UEFA Champions League trophies and two European Championships with Spain. However, he suffered injuries last season that limited his participation and kept him out of the Spain national team for the 2026 World Cup. Getafe plans to utilize his versatility either as a central defender or as a right back, making this one of the most prominent signings in the club’s history.
