Damascus Security Agency Prepares Against Threats

The "Capital Security Agency" has been established in Damascus, with Brigadier General Abdul Aziz Hailal Al-Ahmad appointed as its director to strengthen the city's security and uncover sleeper cells attempting to undermine stability. The agency aims to protect the sovereignty center, international circles, and diplomatic missions in the capital, responding to ongoing security deteriorations such as the bombing of Saint Elias Church and attacks in the Mezze neighborhood, along with other bombings that have occurred over recent years. This development comes as Syrian authorities work to rebuild the security sector, although the security situation remains unstable, with threats from ISIS and Iran-supported groups continuing to hinder the country's economic and political recovery efforts.
