Saudi Civil Aviation reports new attack injuries at Riyadh's King Khalid Airport
The General Authority of Civil Aviation in Saudi Arabia announced a new attack on King Khalid Airport in Riyadh on October 11, resulting in injuries and a fire at the site. The airport was targeted by the Houthis using projectiles and missiles, leading to the death of 12 people and injuries to 309 others, with operations temporarily suspended to verify safety. Saudi air defenses confirmed the interception and destruction of a cruise missile amid ongoing attacks on vital facilities across the kingdom, in the context of an escalation by the Houthis that also targeted other airports and oil companies. These attacks are part of a wider escalation in the Yemen-Saudi conflict and are considered the largest in years, with warnings of increasing violence and a deteriorating security situation in the region.
