Musk commits to low-cost Starlink India

Elon Musk announced that the Starlink satellite internet service will be launched in India at affordable prices to compete with Reliance Jio, a subsidiary of Mukesh Ambani, which relies on a low-cost service strategy and has significantly expanded in the Indian market. Musk did not specify the prices of the service yet, but emphasized the importance of offering reasonable prices to ensure the service’s success and reduce the profits of competitors, as they continue to await final security approvals to commence operations. This move comes at a time when Jio is seeking to launch India’s largest initial public offering (IPO), valued at nearly $106 billion, despite facing opposition from the Indian government, which denies any discriminatory actions.
