US lifts bans on Russian diesel

The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced the lifting of restrictions on the sale and import of Russian diesel fuel, allowing commercial transactions to continue until April 2027. This came after a phone call between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which both leaders agreed to supply the U.S. and global markets with millions of tons of diesel in the coming months, aiming to support energy supplies and reduce the impact of sanctions. Trump confirmed that this agreement would lead to lower diesel prices in the United States, with expectations of approximately three million tons of diesel being supplied from Russia.
