Crime drama leads box office holiday

The crime drama film "The Footprints of Justice" topped the box office during the Chinese National Holiday, despite a decline in total revenues compared to last year. It earned 423 million yuan out of a total of 1.165 billion yuan, due to the absence of a major blockbuster that attracts a wide audience. Other films such as the comedy "Mr. and Mrs. Bardon" and the horror "Evil Resident" also secured significant portions of the earnings, amid a noticeable decline in overall audience turnout at cinemas. There has been a 25.7% increase in viewers watching alone, reflecting audience preferences and market challenges. Nevertheless, the new releases and other factors demonstrated market resilience, with leading films continuing to sustain revenue throughout the holiday, and it is expected that they will continue to drive profits until late October.
