Shmutrich's talk with Egyptian influencers sparks October Victory events

Hostile statements by the extremist Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, in which he threatens Israel's control over Sinai if attacked, dominate the scene in Egypt simultaneously with the anniversary of the October War (1973). Egyptian experts and representatives have affirmed that these remarks reflect a stance aligned with the Israeli government's policies and pose a threat to regional security, viewing them as provocation and a direct threat to Egypt. Egyptian officials reiterated their country's commitment to the principle of peace and their readiness to defend their territory, reminding that history has proven Egypt’s capacity for deterrence in the face of any aggression.
