Ben Gvir oversees Jerusalem demolition

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir participated in the storming of the town of Al-Tur, east of Jerusalem, concurrently with the demolition of a five-story residential building housing approximately 70 people, most of whom are women and children. The Jerusalem governorate confirmed that Ben-Gvir's involvement in the demolition process constitutes official incitement and an electoral exploitation of the Jerusalem issue. It is considered an escalation of the policies of house demolitions and forced displacement aimed at targeting the Palestinian presence in the city. The governorate pointed out that since the beginning of 2026, the occupation has carried out around 427 demolition operations in Jerusalem, shedding light on the targeting of the Palestinian presence and the Israeli authorities' refusal to grant building permits or allow expansion settlements. The governorate called on the international community to take measures to halt these consequences, demanding that Israel respect international law and United Nations resolutions.
