Zverev eyes world top in Shanghai
The article discusses the Shanghai Open Tennis Championship, where German player Alexander Zverev continues his pursuit of second place in the world rankings following the absence of the top-ranked player, Yannik Sinner, due to a knee injury. Zverev aims to reduce the approximately 1,280-point gap between himself and Sinner, especially after failing to win the Beijing title, which could have propelled him to the top spot. It is worth noting that Zverev has claimed two major titles this year, but he has not yet secured the number one ranking worldwide. The tournament is expected to see him competing for a high ranking, with strong matchups anticipated in the semifinals. Sinner, on the other hand, is required to defend 3,000 points, while players are focusing on competing for qualification to the Torino Finals scheduled for November.
