Israel impacts Palestine's teachers on their day

Since the beginning of its war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, Israel has killed more than 800 Palestinian teachers and injured over 3,300 others. Palestinian educational staff are facing systematic targeting, including arrests, assaults, and mobility restrictions. In addition, a financial crisis has emerged due to Israel's detention of the tax revenues—known as al-Ma’kousa—which account for approximately 56% of the Palestinian Authority's income. The International Ministry of Education and human rights organizations are calling for swift intervention to protect teachers and end these violations, amid a rise in violence and attacks against Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
