Khaleeji 27 Coach Talaytich Fired After 3 Losses

Bahrain has decided to dismiss their national team coach, Croatian Dragan Talić, after an early exit from the 27th Gulf Cup hosted by Saudi Arabia. The team lost three group stage matches against Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen, which led to their premature elimination from the tournament. Talić took charge of the team in 2024, guiding them to win the 26th Gulf Cup for the second time and qualifying for the 2027 Asian Cup. However, the performance at Gulf 27 did not meet the expectations of the Bahraini Football Association, prompting his dismissal along with his coaching staff. The association will announce the new coach soon, as Bahrain prepares to participate in the 2027 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia, in a group that also includes Uzbekistan, North Korea, and Jordan.
