Trump pledges $5,000 payout if Republicans take Congress

Former U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated his pledge to give each American adult a check for $5,000 if Republicans maintain control of Congress, despite many Republican lawmakers not supporting the idea due to concerns about costs and inflation impacts. Trump downplays the potential economic risks and justifies the move by citing a strong economy. The program's estimated cost is around $1.22 trillion, covering approximately 245 million adult citizens. This pledge is part of his campaign effort to boost Republican support.
