Yemeni army reports 700 Houthis killed in 257 strikes
The Yemeni army announced that at least 700 Houthi fighters have been killed in 257 precise targeting operations, which included military positions and movements across various areas, utilizing air strikes, drones, artillery, and missiles. These operations resulted in the destruction of 170 vehicles and combat tools, significantly neutralizing a large number of Houthi elements, directly impacting their ability to carry out attacks against civilians. These developments come amid a broad military escalation that began in July 2023, following a temporary halt after the April 2022 ceasefire, and intensified in September, when the Houthis took control of strategic centers in Taiz and Hodeidah. Yemen has been engaged in an ongoing war since the Houthis seized Sanaa in 2014, with a Saudi-led coalition intervening in 2015 to support the Yemeni government.
