Hong Kong marks National Day with ceremonies

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government celebrated the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China with a flag-raising ceremony in front of the Golden Bohinia Square in the morning, followed by a reception at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. John Lee, the Chief Executive, explained that this is the first National Day celebration since the adoption of Hong Kong's first five-year plan, which aims to harness the opportunities provided by national development within the framework of "one country, two systems." He emphasized that teamwork and unity will help Hong Kong move forward toward a brighter and more prosperous future.
