Jordan initiates national census

The 2026 Population and Housing Census campaign has been launched in Jordan, aiming to collect up-to-date and accurate data on approximately 2.5 million households. The census will continue until the end of October and covers about 24,000 statistical blocks and ten million buildings, with the participation of around 12,000 researchers conducting flexible field visits. It also ensures the confidentiality and legal protection of the information. The goal of the census is to update the demographic, social, and housing profile to support planning and development, as well as to allocate resources and services based on the actual needs of various regions and groups.
