Nobel laureate Pillay condemns US sanctions on ICC

The United States imposed sanctions on the International Criminal Court, describing them as "unacceptable" in order to protect American sovereignty and its citizens, following the Court's decision to investigate alleged violations of international law in the occupied Palestinian territories. The Court confirmed that these measures aim to intimidate its staff and hinder its activities, and it will continue its operations. There will be a six-month grace period for member states to mitigate American concerns. These actions come after Navi Pillay was awarded the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize for her role in supporting international law and human rights, particularly regarding Palestine.
