Tunisie Telegraph: Leila Ben Salem's Montreal murder case remains unresolved

The case of the Tunisian woman Leila Ben Salem's murder in Montreal has become more complicated due to the fading of evidence and the police's failure to swiftly apprehend those involved. The incident occurred on September 22, when Leila was engaging via Zoom before she was attacked by a killer wielding a sharp object in front of her colleagues. However, the main suspect, who was seen near the building, disappeared quickly. Data shows that the chances of solving the case drop by up to 50% if more than 48 hours pass without identifying the suspect, especially as evidence degrades and it becomes increasingly difficult to recognize the perpetrator over time. While police questioned a previous suspect who has since been released, investigators are now focusing on a well-known suspect who remains at large. The case is heading toward being a cold and complex investigation based on digital data analysis and surveillance footage, amid fears that the case could slip into obscurity and justice may be lost.
